The Antigua and Barbuda Montserrat Bankers Association is launching a campaign called “Fight Fraud” to educate consumers about protecting themselves from digital fraud and cybercrime.

The Association is committed to safeguarding and educating its customers about the various types of fraud and cybercrime as they continue to offer digital banking options.

Mrs. Ladesa James-Williams, the President of the Bankers Association, emphasized that digital banking is a convenient and efficient way to conduct transactions and that customers can do so safely with the right education and awareness.

The Fight Fraud campaign will launch on August 21, 2023, and will provide simple yet effective measures to adopt when doing business online.

The campaign will increase customer vigilance and help them recognize the “red flags” associated with online fraud. Furthermore, customers will be advised on the routine steps they can take daily to avoid falling victim to these scams.

The Banker’s Association has invested heavily in implementing the necessary technology and security systems as digital transactions increase.

Still, they recognize that customers must also play their part in safeguarding themselves.

Therefore, the Association is encouraging the public to take advantage of the information and share it with their loved ones. Members of the public can find Fight Fraud content on all local media channels and social media channels for member institutions.
