The man is currently a patient at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after surgery to his pelvic area last night
58-year-old Harrigan who works with local shipping agent for Seaboard Marine Carib Seas, was injured during what has been described as a freak accident at the Deep-Water Habor when he reportedly got trapped between a truck and a container.
He received serious injuries to his pelvic area and other parts of his body.
The accident occurred a little after midday according to reports.
General Manager of the Antigua and Barbuda Port Authority Dawin Telemaque has expressed great sadness over the incident
Telemaque visited Harrigan at the hospital and confirmed to local media that his situation was critical
The Port boss is expected to have discussions with the shipping agents this morning to discuss the incident and some adjustments to operations
