A total of 20 students have recently completed an internship program facilitated by the Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority.
This program has provided them with valuable tools and skills to pursue their academic and professional goals.
The program, managed by the Authority’s Human Resources Department, allowed Ashanti Bishop, Misheka Mitchell, Sekoi Joseph, Anaiya Hector, Aalexa Lake, Frances Farrell, Natajah Francis, Rae-Anna Joseph, Danijha Simon, Denecia Henry, Sierra Letlow, Akeile Benjamin, J’herdine Browne, Elijah Edwards, Aulicia Greenaway, Ebonie Gravesande, Mya Southwell, Kyesha Cadogan, Dominic Roach, and Noveke Josiah to benefit from the experience.
During the program, the interns were placed in various departments at the VC Bird International Airport, including Accounts, Operations, Commercial, Customer Service, Executive Lounge, Human Resources, IT, Security, and Stores. Celestine Reynolds, the Human Resources Manager, expressed satisfaction with how the program enriched the minds of the young professionals with the knowledge and experience they will need to succeed in their future careers.
The students themselves also expressed satisfaction with the initiative, stating that it provided them with theoretical knowledge and practical experience in a real working environment.
The program also aimed to give the students a basic understanding of business and technical concepts in the aviation industry.
Joseph Samuel, the Director of Operations, was pleased to witness such bright and enthusiastic minds showing a deep interest in the operations of the VC Bird International Airport and the Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority.
Overall, the future looks bright for the aviation industry with such promising students.
