Female pilot safely lands aircraft after an oil leak

A female pilot was able to safely land at the V.C Bird International Airport on Thursday morning after the plane’s engine reportedly blew out. captain Jamilla Jeffrey and seven passengers were aboard the Fly Monserrat plane destined for Antigua when it encountered difficulties.

Public Relations Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Fire Department Lester Bagot told reporters on Thursday that at around 9.30 this morning, an emergency was declared while in flight, and Antigua emergency services responded in advance.

“The pilot reported that about three minutes into the flight, the right-side engine started to leak oil and consequently the engine had to be shut down. She was able to land the aircraft safely at the V.C Bird International Airport at Runway 7 where the passenger disembarked safely,” he said,

Bagot congratulated Captain Jeffery on what he called her “heroic feat” of safely landing the aircraft.

    Wow. This is amazing. Based on reports the hospital was expecting a casualty. Praise god is all went well…
