As the nation continues to express shock, disappointment, and sadness over the stabbing of Monifa St John, family members say they are grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the public

St John, who works directly with the Minster of Health Sir Molwyn Joseph was stabbed 14 times during a home invasion Friday.

She is still a patient at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center and reports are that her health condition is improving and her wounds are not life-threatening.

The attacker broke into her Ebenezer home in the early hours of Friday morning.

Her government-assigned vehicle, as well as a number of important documents, were also stolen in the incident according to tearful Sir Molwyn.

St John is described as a “sweet soul” by those who know her.

Investigations into the incident are said to be ongoing.
