The largest trade union body in Antigua and Barbuda will be celebrating women’s achievements on March 08th this year, as part of activities to observe International Women’s Day.

The Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union Women’s Council will host a forum and exhibition which is also geared at empowering the country’s women.

The event will be hosted under the theme Cracking the Code: Innovation for a Gender Equal Future and a press statement from the ABWU said it is based on the priority theme of the United Nations 67th Commission on the Status of Women.

Clinical Psychologist, Fiona Charles Richards, will deliver the feature remarks on mental and emotional well-being, while the Dance Director at the Shiva School of Dance, Tavia Hunte, will continue the exploration of this theme through dance.

Women will also have their exhibits on display.

The all-day event is at no cost to the public.

The forum and exhibition will take place on International Women’s Day, March 8, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm at the Antigua and Barbuda Workers’ Union Freedom Hall on Lower Newgate Street.
