Fifty-five pounds of marijuana was reportedly intercepted at the Deep-Water Habor on Wednesday.
Police Public Relations Officer Inspector Frankie Thomas said in a press release on Thursday that the Police Narcotics and Customs Departments conducted two separate joint drug operations at the Deep-Water Harbour and found a total of 35 pounds of cannabis in two separate shipments.
“Both seizures are estimated to value a combined $230,000,” he said
Thomas said that a similar operation was carried out at the airport where another 20 pounds were seized but this one had a street value of $120,000 was also discovered.
“The controlled substances were taken to the police station as further investigations continue. Two men are currently assisting with the investigations” Thomas said.
