The government of Grenada has removed its former Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Oleg Firer, from the list of marketing agents licensed to conduct business on behalf of the islands Citizenship by Investment Programme.

On its website, the CBI said “The Grenada Citizenship by Investment Committee advises that Oleg Firer is not a licensed Marketing Agent, nor a registered sub-agent of the Grenada Citizenship by Investment Programme…He is therefore not authorized to market, promote or disseminate information on the program, nor act on behalf of, or engage with current or potential applicants, or their authorized representatives,”

It is not clear why he was removed as a marketing agent or even when he became one.

According to reports, Firer presented his credentials to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on October 3, 2017, and by February 22, 2022, he was refused entry into Grenada. His diplomatic passport was also confiscated by Immigration authorities.

No reason was given by the immigration department why his documents were seized.

Grenada stopped accepting applications from Russia and Belarus as of April 1 this year.
