Press Statement

The Nolan Hue Foundation is accepting applications for its annual Youth Empowerment Retreat (YER).

YER is a three-day professional workshop designed to support the holistic development of young adults ages 18-25.

The non-profit organization’s CEO, Mr. Regis Burton, explains the purpose of hosting this youth-based retreat.

“YER is an opportunity to bridge the gap as young people transition from adolescence into adulthood and there is no other opportunity available to addresses this important issue in society.”

Scores of young professionals across Antigua and Barbuda have benefited significantly from attending YER.

Here are two testimonials from the Nolan Hue Alumni – a wide network of individuals with various backgrounds, skills, and experiences. Mr. Trevaun Solomon, 23, possesses an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration & Computer Science and was selected to attend YER in 2016. Solomon shares the positive impact YER has had on his growing career in business.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work in both software development and sales and marketing over the past several years, which has given me a unique perspective on how to grow businesses in the Caribbean. Nolan Hue’s Youth Empowerment Retreat gave me the skills I needed in the international job market and deliver results at a world-class level.”

Ms. Roshineque Ferris, 22, was selected to participate in YER in 2019. Since then, she has attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Management with Entrepreneurship from the UWI Five Islands Campus. Ferris, currently a self-employed artist, photographer, and graphic designer speaks on what life has been like since joining the Alumni.

“Since participating in YER, I’ve developed a strong growth mindset in everything I do and have since made the 2019 theme; “Trust the process” a quote I live by daily.”

Applications close on May 14th 2023. Successful applicants of this first of two (2) phases, will be contacted by May 29th 2023.

Applicants are encouraged to be as creative and inventive as possible
