St Lucian national wanted for murder in Martinique escapes custody

Police in St Lucia are on the lookout for a man who escaped custody. The man was being held for his involvement in a murder in Martinique.

Police in Castries said that the St Lucian police executed a search warrant at the home of Joharius Johannes on June 8. They said the whole nothing of evidential value was found, he was detained on a report of an assault with a firearm

Johannes remains at large and is said to be armed and dangerous

INTERPOL also issued a ‘Red Notice’ for Johannes regarding him concerning a murder in Martinique.

In a statement, the police said that “Johannes, who had appeared in the First District Court, escaped lawful custody from the Babonneau Police Station, on Wednesday after the court hearing”
