Labour Department to Conduct Visits to Workplaces Amidst Safety Concerns

Press Statement

The Ministry of Labour is deeply concerned about the recent accidents that have been occurring at workplaces around Antigua and Barbuda.

The Ministry of Labour will be redoubling its efforts to ensure that Employers and Employees alike take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of the Health, Safety, and Welfare of all persons within the workplace.

To this end, the Labour Inspectorate within the Ministry of Labour will be conducting visits to workplaces to ensure that safety precautions and measures are adopted and implemented to ensure the safety of all.

It has been proven and established that once Health, Safety and Welfare measures are practiced consistently in the workplace and among the workforce, unfortunate accidents in workplaces will either be avoided or greatly diminished.

  1. While you’re at it, check for professionalism and pleasant customer service. Too many workers bring their home problems to the job and treat customers like shit.
