Antigua and Barbuda Captures Miss Jaycees 2023 Title

Antigua and Barbuda’s Ischikelle Corbin has captured the coveted Miss Jaycees 2023 title.

Corbin maintained her consistency at the ARG Grounds last night, also taking with her the awards for Best Interview, Miss Congeniality, Best Swimwear, Best Performing Talent, Best Modelling Skills for evening wear, and Best Dress.

She told reporters the moment after the announcement that she is honored that she was able to perform at her best despite being very exhausted

“I came with one mission in mind and that was to represent Antigua and Barbuda to the best of my ability and be the best ambassador possible. I also told myself that I needed to have fun and the result was seen. I surprised myself,” she said

“This is truly a dream and I am happy the judges saw all my hard work”, she added

Corbin said if the opportunity presented itself, she will gladly represent the country in the Miss University pageant.

“A few years ago, I did say why not so if that does become a stepping stone or the future, I welcome it”, she said

The new Jaycees Queen also had some advice for those choosing pageantry, telling them “Don’t let anyone tell you they can’t. The sky is the limit”

Corbin said her mother remains her biggest mentor, having introduced her to pageantry many years ago

Corbin is the reigning Carnival Queen.

The first runner-up position went to Adicia Burton, Miss Dominica, and coming in second was Shadyn McLean, Miss St Vincent and the Grenadines.

St Lucia won the awards for True to the Theme and Miss Photogenic.
