Accident victim identified as Dominican Cyclist Bram Sanderson

Dominican cyclist Bram Sanderson

Dominican cyclist Bram Sanderson has died following an accident on the Sydney Walling Highway and American Road this morning.

According to reports, Sanderson, 30, was pronounced dead on his way to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center, following the accident involving a pickup and a motorcycle that occurred at about 3:05 am.

The motorcycle was reportedly traveling from west to east while the pick-up was traveling from north to south as they approached the intersection.

The Emergency Medical Services arrived on the scene within four minutes of receiving the call. Still, reports are that the impact left Sanderson with severe injuries, and he died despite efforts by the EMS team.

Meanwhile, the pillion rider,  29-year-old Daniel Jno Baptiste also from Dominica, was sent hurtling over the fence at Harney Motors and onto the compound.

He is now a patient at the SLBMC, nursing multiple injuries to his head and hip. The pick-up driver was not seriously injured.

Police investigations are continuing.
