Vere Browne to be Awarded During INTERPOL’s 100th Anniversary Celebrations

Interpol has nominated Vere Browne, a former Police Commissioner of Antigua and Barbuda, for an award for his service to the organization.

Browne’s nomination coincides with the 100th anniversary of Interpol’s service, which will be celebrated on September 7 at the John E. St. Luce Finance and Conference Center.

This momentous date coincides with the founding of the International Criminal Police Commission on September 7, 1923, marking a century of collaborative international policing efforts.

The award ceremony will take place in Antigua and will be hosted by Interpol.

Browne has previously served as a veteran in the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, having risen to the rank of Chief Inspector.

During the anniversary celebration, Browne will be formally recognized for his work while serving in the Interpol office of the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.

According to STRATCOM, the event anticipates a distinguished audience, including Government Ministers, esteemed Dignitaries, Diplomats, Government Officials, and police officers who will come together to pay tribute to the enduring spirit of global law enforcement cooperation.

The ceremony will serve as a platform to honor the dedicated past and present police officers who have played a pivotal role in INTERPOL’s association with the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda.

The event will feature a keynote address delivered by the Attorney-General, Steadroy Benjamin.

Commissioner Atlee Rodney, currently heading the National Central Bureau-NCB Antigua, expressed his enthusiasm for the forthcoming celebration.

He eagerly looks forward to joining hands with this esteemed assembly, which has been instrumental in reshaping the global security landscape.

The auspicious ceremony is scheduled to commence promptly at 9 a.m., encapsulating a century of collaborative efforts in maintaining international security and upholding justice.
