PLH Principals Commit to Rebuilding Barbuda’s Cargo Port

Prime Minister Gaston Browne.

In a significant effort to facilitate the reconstruction of Barbuda’s cargo port, the PLH Project principals have taken the initiative.

The company has provided a substantial advance of $8 million for the project, which has not yet commenced, as revealed by Prime Minister Gaston Browne in Parliament on Monday.

“That project has not started in earnest so no funds have been expended so far,” Browne said.

“They have also agreed to advance about $US 3 million to assist with the equipping of the airport facility in Barbuda. I believe that perhaps a few $100,000 have been advanced so far and I suspect that by the end of this year, they should expel the full $US 2.8 million that they have pledged which will result in the acquisition of all the necessary assets to ensure we have a truly functional airport on Barbuda”.
