Three-year-old allegedly sexually assaulted

By Zaya Williams

The police are said to have received a report of a 3-year-old child allegedly falling victim to sexual assault.

According to emerging details, a concerned woman brought the toddler to the Special Victims Unit, reporting that a known male had sexually assaulted the young girl on September 19.

The child was reportedly interviewed in the presence of her mother.

This allegation is the latest in a string of sexual violence in the country.

One highly publicized account of a similar matter dates back to last year when a man was sentenced to five years for raping his 5-year-old niece.

The trial revealed that the defendant, who was 18 years old at the time, committed the heinous act against his sister’s daughter in December 2019. The victim’s older brother was pivotal in revealing the horrific incident.

On the night of the assault, the brother and his uncle had been playing football in Ovals and returned home after 9 p.m.

The young boy was sent on an errand, and upon his return, he witnessed his uncle in the bedroom where his sister and mother were asleep. The uncle was observed pulling up both pants, which immediately raised suspicion.

The boy courageously questioned his uncle about the unsettling situation, but his concerns were met with dismissive laughter. Despite the disturbing encounter, the boy went to sleep.

However, he awoke during the night to find his uncle sexually assaulting the young child.

Frightened and traumatized, the boy quickly informed his mother about the horrific incident. When the mother checked on her young daughter, she discovered pieces of toilet paper on the girl’s genitals, confirming the abuse.
