VIDEO: Heavy Rains and Flooding Nationwide as Philippe is Crawling Away to the WNW

Tropical Storm Philippe has hit Antigua and Barbuda, causing serious flooding on both islands. Barbuda experienced the storm’s initial impact, which resulted in power outages and floods.

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Services has issued a tropical storm warning and flash flood watch for both islands, with 4 to 6 inches of rainfall expected until Wednesday.

The US’ National Hurricane Centre has predicted scattered flash flooding across the Leeward and northern Windward Islands due to heavy rainfall from Philippe.

Meteorologist Bernel Simon has stated that the heaviest rainfall is expected between 6am and 6pm on Tuesday, and wind gusts are also expected.

Climatologist Dale Destin has warned that the storm is moving further west than predicted, indicating that more stormy weather is expected.
