A new date has been set for the funeral of Police Constable Robert Dyer Jr.
The funeral of Dyer was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 3rd at the Swetes Wesleyan Holiness Church but due to Tropical Storm Philippe, the service was postponed
The new date has been fixed for Tuesday, October 10th at 2:00 PM.
Dyer tragically lost his life following a collision on Sir Sydney Walling’s Highway on 4th September. He was 39 years.
Constable Dyer met a tragic end in a motorcycle accident on September 4, approximately at 11:20 am, while traveling on the Sir Sydney Walling Highway near Luna Park.
According to Corporal Brendan Sutherland, a traffic officer, the accident involved a collision between Dyer’s motorcycle and a green Jeep Wrangler, resulting in the unfortunate passing of the 39-year-old resident of Willikies at the accident scene.
The news of Constable Dyer’s untimely demise reverberated through the ranks of the police force, leaving them in a profound state of grief.
Corporal Sutherland, who had known Constable Dyer for well over a decade and had closely collaborated with him for two years, fondly recalled Dyer as a patient and captivating individual.
He also highlighted Dyer’s profound passion for motorcycle riding.
