It has been revealed that a lightning strike is believed to be the primary cause of the inferno that razed the Antigua Yacht Club Marina (AYCM) and approximately ten neighboring businesses in Falmouth Harbour.
This revelation came to light during a meeting between AYCM owner Carlo Falcone and the Antigua and Barbuda Cabinet members.
Falcone, who appeared before the Cabinet on Thursday, shared this assessment, shedding light on the disastrous incident that unfolded during the early hours of Tuesday morning amid the passage of Tropical Storm Philippe.
While the full extent of the damage is yet to be precisely quantified, initial estimates suggest that the losses will tally up to millions of dollars.
In response to the catastrophe, Falcone’s insurance company promptly dispatched an investigator to assess the destruction, as confirmed by an official from the Cabinet.
Acknowledging the gravity of the situation, both the Cabinet and Falcone expressed their commendation for the tireless efforts of the fire department.
Firefighters spent hours battling the blaze.
The bravery displayed by these first responders has not gone unnoticed, and the Cabinet expressed its gratitude for their heroic actions in the face of such perilous circumstances.
God is rising up a standard and showing he’s still in control, too much nastiness taking place in this area
More like a Russian strike to me. 😆 Seems to me somebody fked around and found out not to mess with the Russians. But that’s only my opinion.
