CARICOM, the Caribbean Community, has issued a statement regarding the situation in Israel.
In the statement, CARICOM condemns the attacks in Israel and the counterattacks in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that the brutal nature of these attacks and counterattacks goes against the principles of civilized living.
Innocent lives are being lost due to the violence of the combatants. CARICOM joins other responsible members of the international community in calling for an immediate ceasefire and end of hostilities by all parties involved.
The statement also highlights that the recent round of hostilities reflects the pain and suffering of ancient quarrels, and that the ongoing harsh conditions under which the Palestinians live, as well as Israel’s sense of insecurity, contribute to a cycle of violence that can only be stopped with definitive action.
CARICOM continues to support the United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 and the ongoing efforts of the United Nations towards a two-state solution, as it believes this is the best way to achieve comprehensive peace, security, and tranquility between Israel and Palestine.
If there is no judgment being made, why say anything at all? Who told them to comment on these issues, that they clearly don’t know much about?
