Calvin Ayre Foundation donates EC$65K to youth empowerment

The Department of Youth Affairs (DYA) received a generous donation of EC$65,000 from the Calvin Ayre Foundation (CAF) during a handover ceremony on Monday.

The donation will go towards purchasing computers, printers, projectors, office stationery, and other necessary equipment for the department’s daily tasks, as well as sponsoring the Entrepreneurship Program set to launch in January 2024.

The DYA’s Director, Dr. Jrucella Samuel, expressed her gratitude for the donation, stating that it will empower many young people to pursue their dreams and make a positive difference in the world.

National Youth Ambassadors Shaquan O’Neil and Esquire Henry, also expressed their appreciation and excitement for the partnership between the DYA and CAF, as well as the sponsorship towards the Youth Entrepreneurship Program.

The DYA’s Project and Development Officer, Carolyn Perry, echoed their sentiments, saying that the donation has given them a chance to envision a positive future with a great approach to entrepreneurship.

CAF’s Media Relations Specialist, Jamilla Kirwan, stated that the foundation is always happy to offer financial assistance to various causes, particularly in areas such as education & sports, emergency response, and social development.

Ambassador Ayre, an entrepreneur himself, is pleased to be partnering with the DYA in achieving its goals for the benefit of the nation’s youth.
