Sandals Island Run raises £100k for children’s healthcare.

Over the course of four days, the Sandals Foundation held an ultra-marathon charity event that proved to be a resounding success.

The event managed to raise £100,000, thanks to the participation of numerous Sandals Resorts team members, guests, private sector representatives, and local residents.

On Saturday, October 14, over 200 individuals participated in the Half Marathon and 10K walk, crossing the finish line with joy and pride, all in support of the cause.

The funds raised from the event will be used to enhance the capacity of the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, as well as to support the Endowment Fund of the Sickkids Caribbean Initiative.

The latter is a partnership that connects health care in Toronto, Canada, with seven Caribbean health institutions, enabling doctors and nurses to exchange information and provide better diagnoses and treatments for children with cancer and serious blood disorders.

The philanthropic organization received support from over 50 local and international partners.
