The Ministry of Housing, Lands and Urban Renewal wishes to inform members of the public that National Housing (NH) has started planting palms along Friars Hill Road as part of the beautification program as part of the government’s mandate to plant more trees.
The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has been a major consultant in the process and has assisted NH in marking where the trees will be planted.
APUA will be shifting their lines in early 2024 which was taken into consideration as well.
Please be guided accordingly.
That’s good but the road. oh boy.
That is a good idea of the beautification project. My concern is leaving the newly road work dig up and also not having proper roadside runoff guttering/drainage after the completion of the beautification. Please, I am begging all the planners involved, plan this project properly.
Lovely idea , please make sure that ample space is left for the palm branches, especially at the curb. As we do not want the branches to absruct the drivers view around the corners. So leave enough space for as the palms grow the branches will open out.
