A man named Otineo Thomas will now have a debt of $36,000 due to multiple charges filed against him.
Thomas was found in possession of a pistol, eight rounds of ammunition, and two pounds of marijuana on November 21.
He was also charged with possession with intent to transfer the marijuana said to be worth $12,000.
Police searched Thomas’s residence in Clarehall on that morning, leading to the discovery of five transparent bags of marijuana in his backpack.
A further inspection revealed a 40-caliber Smith and Wesson pistol with one bullet in its chamber and seven more in a magazine.
The 21-year-old claimed that he found the gun but pleaded guilty to all charges during his court appearance today.
Thomas was then fined $19,000 for the possession of marijuana with the intent to transfer, with a reprimand and discharge for the charge of simple possession.
Additionally, he is obligated to pay $5,000 for the bullets and $12,000 for the firearm.
Thomas must settle all fines to a total of $36,000 as a consequence of his legal actions.
