On Thursday morning, Dwayne George, a Senator from the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party, was re-sworn into the Upper House in a brief ceremony.

This marks his second time taking the oath in mere months.

Currently serving as the Minister of State within the Ministry of Finance, George has resumed his duties in the Upper House.

“I Dwayne Kenny Mustafa George do swear that I will faithfully bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles his heirs and his successors, so help me God,’ George taking the Oath of Office.

Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Senator Samantha Marshall.

“This is no easy task and the role that you have been given is a critical role toward the development of making your contribution towards the development of Antigua and Barbuda. I urge you to make your mark in this House, best wishes,” Marshall said.

Opposition Minority Leader Senator Shawn Nicholas also stated, “I take this opportunity on behalf of this side to welcome you to the Upper House. It is a place where we take the business of the people very seriously,” Nicholas said.

George also thanked his colleagues and others who have supported his journey
