Top G6NA Students Awarded at Special Ceremony

On Thursday December 7th, the SJPC House of Restoration Ministries hosted the CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank Grade Six National Assessment Awards ceremony in Antigua and Barbuda.

The ceremony aimed to celebrate the achievements of students who secured a position in the top 100 of the assessment. During the ceremony, a total of 103 students were awarded in Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories.

Sophia Aflak, a former student of St. Nicholas Primary School, received the Minister of Education Award for her exceptional performance, securing 379 out of 400 points in the two-day assessment held on 7th and 8th June 2023.

Carhira Gerald, who attended Golden Grove Primary School, was also among the honourees at the ceremony and was awarded for being the top G6NA student in public schools. Gerald attained 371 marks out of 400.

The Minister of Education, Sports and Creative Industries, Daryll Matthew, congratulated the high achievers and commended them for their hard work, passion, and commitment to learning.

He stated that their success is a reflection of their curiosity, critical thinking, and unwavering determination to strive for excellence.

This year marked the eleventh year of CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank’s collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries to reward the scholastic achievements of former Grade Six students in public and private schools across the country.

The bank has reaffirmed its commitment to celebrating the nation’s top performers and looks forward to working with the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Creative Industries to make the ceremony even more memorable in 2024 and beyond.
