Twenty-three-year-old DeSonte Barton who suffered multiple stab wounds during the Boxing Day Jouvert in Point, has been released from the hospital.
Barton of Grays Farm was urgently transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre yesterday morning after sustaining stab injuries to his nostril, jaw, shoulder, and hand.
The incident occurred near Xcape Bar on Lower North Street, where reports indicate that Barton was ambushed by seven individuals clad in hoods and masks.
The attackers, believed to be minors, allegedly used various sharp weapons, including a cutlass, to inflict injuries on the young man.
Simultaneously, another incident unfolded at the same event involving Jaheim Mannix, an 18-year-old from Point.
Mannix, who reportedly intervened in the altercation, was found bleeding and subsequently taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
He sustained four stab wounds to his back but, like Barton, was treated and discharged within hours.
