GG Sir Rodney Williams makes presentation to Christmas Card competition winner

Savanah Holborough, an eight-year-old St. Nicholas Primary School student, was recently announced as the overall winner of the Halo Foundation’s Annual Christmas Card Competition 2023.

The competition, open to students from various schools across the region, saw Savanah’s artwork selected as the best out of all the entries received.

In a brief prize-giving ceremony held at Government House, Governor General Sir Rodney Williams congratulated all the participants and encouraged them to continue practicing and improving their artistic skills.

He emphasized the importance of nurturing young talents and expressed his delight at seeing such creativity among the youth.

The Island Academy International School was recognized for its impressive performance in the competition, producing the most winning entries.

The students from the school were praised for their creativity and ingenuity, and the faculty was commended for motivating and supporting them.

As for the winners, they were rewarded with various prizes, including art supplies, cash prizes, and trophies.

The competition organizers expressed their pleasure in seeing such talent and creativity among the young students and promised to continue supporting and promoting the arts in the region.
