The AIDS Secretariat is urging individuals who have tested positive for HIV to seek treatment as soon as possible, ahead of the official announcement of figures for the last year.

Programme Manager Delcora Williams emphasized the importance of accessing care to prevent the virus from increasing and making it easier to infect others. While there has been a decrease in the number of individuals testing positive,

Williams warns against complacency and encourages the public to continue seeking testing.

To make testing more accessible, the Secretariat has increased appointments and is looking at broadening the locations where testing can be conducted.

Healthcare providers and Clinical Support Officers have been trained to conduct HIV tests, and the Secretariat has begun offering testing at hotels and workplaces. Training sessions are scheduled for next month.
