Tiffanie Stephanie Howell, a 30-year-old Jamaican national who evaded authorities for a week and later surrendered, has been sentenced to seven months in prison.
Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel issued the sentence after Howell spent a night in prison on remand.
She had confessed to escaping immigration custody when she appeared in court on Monday.
Howell and another Jamaican woman, Donnalee Samantha Salmon, had broken out of a detention center on January 20.
According to reports, Howell was initially flagged by immigration due to her arrival on the island with a one-way ticket.
Salmon remains at large, and authorities are urging the public to provide information leading to her whereabouts.
Citizens are reminded not to shelter or aid Salmon and to report any sightings to the Immigration Enforcement Unit at 764-3240 or 562-5394.
