1 February 2024 - 06:53

Discussions between the Caribbean Development Bank and Prime Minister Gaston Browne on the purchasing of three aircraft for LIAT 2020 will continue this morning.

Yesterday, during a Zoom meeting with CDB and representatives of the LIAT shareholders, the Prime Minister shared details of his offer to purchase three aircraft from the CDB.

LIAT (2020) Ltd. will utilize these aircraft since LIAT (1974) Ltd. has been dissolved.

The government has said repeatedly that it is determined to revive the regional air carrier and is in talks with the CDB to finalize the sale will continue.

Once the sale is complete, the three aircraft will form the foundation of LIAT’s fleet, enabling LIAT 2020 to become a viable entity.

In partnership with Air Peace, LIAT 2020 will provide much-needed intra-regional and extra-regional services to move people and cargo throughout the Caribbean.
