Ambassador Roger Nhyus

Antigua & Barbuda is eagerly awaiting the announcement regarding establishing a U.S. Embassy on the island, which, according to the new Ambassador Roger Nhyus, is expected later this year.

It is a moment of great anticipation for the people of Antigua & Barbuda, as this development will bring new opportunities and strengthen the relationship between the two nations.

Nhyus, expressed his support for the decision to expand the number of U.S. embassies in the sub-region by two.

Following U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’ announcement, the ambassador reassured the public that the decision would be made public within the coming months.

If Antigua is selected as a beneficiary of the impending decision, government officials have already identified a site on Marble Hill that has been referred to as ‘Embassy Row.

The last time a United States Embassy was in Antigua was in the 1990s, and establishing a new embassy in the region would increase the U.S. presence in the North-Eastern Caribbean.
