Parents with violent children have been encouraged by the government to seek professional help for them

Just days before, a young man was hospitalized after receiving multiple wounds with a machete at a bus station after school was dismissed
The Cabinet discussed a decision rendered recently by a U.S. Court that found a parent guilty of the criminal actions of a son.
According to the Cabinet notes, the parent knew the son’s ownership of a weapon and had also learned of the son’s threats to harm others.
That parent did nothing to ensure that the child would be deprived of his weapon, nor did the parent take the child for counseling.
The Court, therefore, found that the parent was complicit in the son’s actions and imposed a lengthy jail term on the parent for the crime committed by the child.
It is unclear whether the government will move to make such laws applicable to Antigua and Barbuda but there have been cries from the public that indeed some parents are culpable
The Cabinet encourages parents whose children seem intent on doing harm to others to seek professional assistance to discourage them from anti-social violent behaviour.
I think these violent kids should go to big jail so they will get a better understanding to keep out of problems
A lot of them goes to the big jail (the only jail/prison on island) and come back into society worsened then they went in.
Parents need to get their teens especially the boys into the ABDF Cadet program. This program has helped a lot of young boys and girls. Once the parents saw early signs of negative behavior in their teens, get them enrolled in the cadet program immediately.
