A US resident who was shot on his way from a nightclub in Antigua and Barbuda remains in stable condition after undergoing two surgeries at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center, our newsroom has learned

Our newsroom has received information that the man identified as Shaw Rivers, underwent two surgeries at the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center to treat his injuries.

The incident occurred on Friday night when Rivers and his girlfriend, who is from St. Lucia and resi

des in Antigua and Barbuda, were traveling on McKinnons main road. As they were heading home, they came to a stop and were suddenly approached by a man from another vehicle who fired shots, hitting Rivers in the abdomen.

Despite his injuries, Rivers managed to drive to the Percival Service Station, where emergency medical services and the police were contacted.

Fortunately, the woman was unharmed during the attack.
