The party will hold its second primary elections tonight in the All Saints West constituency to select a candidate who will be the party’s standard bearer/caretaker during the interim period.
The competition is fierce, with three impressive candidates in the running: business executive Regis Burton, agriculturalist/radio host Lamin Newton, and environmentalist Arrie Simon.
This primary election is an internal party matter, and only registered party members who are registered in the constituency are eligible to participate.
And with more than seven hundred and fifty persons registered to vote in the primary, it’s sure to be a nail-biting event
After the vote, the secretariat team, led by ABLP General Secretary, Sen. Mary Clare Hurst, will count the ballots in collaboration with the party’s auditors, PKS.
This primary marks the party’s determination to select its candidates well ahead of the next general election, allowing them to solidify their presence and connection with the respective constituencies.
Sen. Hurst said the party will hold other primaries in other constituencies in the coming months, so stay tuned for more thrilling updates from the world of Antiguan and Barbudan politics!
