During a recent dialogue between the OAS Member States and H.E. Dominique Hasler, President of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, Antigua and Barbuda’s Ambassador to the Organization of American States (OAS), Ambassador Sanders, received high praise.

H.E. Hasler expressed her admiration for Ambassador Sanders and Antigua and Barbuda’s leadership on multilateral agendas.

In her message delivered at the OAS headquarters in Washington D.C., H.E. Hasler specifically thanked Ambassador Sanders for leading the dialogue and being a role model for how countries, regardless of their size, can shape multilateral agendas with expertise and leadership.

Moreover, Ambassador Sanders was applauded for his leadership on the OAS’s position regarding Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

H.E. Hasler expressed her appreciation for Ambassador Sanders’ personal leadership in this regard and how much Europe really needs a clear stance in the OAS against Russian aggression.

According to H.E. Hasler, the current time is a time of crisis for everyone, and we face fundamental challenges to our free societies and our rule space international order.

H.E. Hasler also added that there is no place in either of our organizations for states that so fundamentally reject our principles.

On the second anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February, the OAS member states expressed their continued support for the people of Ukraine.
