The Police are investigating three separate wounding incidents that occurred on Tuesday, March 12, in different areas. One of these incidents involved an injury caused by a machete.

According to reports, a 911 operator contacted the Willikies Police Station to inform them about a wounding near the village ice cream parlor.

It is alleged that the victim, a 23-year-old man from Powells Estate, and the alleged offender both work for the same landscaping company.

However, on March 11, they had a verbal argument, which resulted in both of them being reprimanded by their supervisor. As a consequence, the alleged offender was sent home.

Further reports suggest that the following day, while they were on their way home from work at around 3:15 p.m., the work truck stopped to let the alleged offender get off.

As soon as he got off the truck, it is alleged that the aggrieved man pulled the victim to the ground and proceeded to assault him with a cutlass physically, inflicting injuries to his right bicep and lower back in the buttocks area.

Although the victim’s injuries are said not to be life-threatening, he required five stitches to close the wounds.

Efforts were made to locate the alleged offender, but they were unsuccessful initially. However, the Police managed to find and subsequently arrest him, taking him into custody.

Meanwhile, a corporal informed her colleagues about another wounding incident near her residence in Jennings New Extension.

This matter was reported to the Bolans Police Station at approximately 5:50 p.m. on March 12.

According to reports, a woman who was babysitting her sister’s children was approached by two brothers who were armed with a cutlass and a knife.

They allegedly questioned the woman about a bicycle that belonged to them. Since she was unaware of what they were referring to and couldn’t provide any relevant information, both men reportedly became disorderly, asking for her boyfriend and brother.

The woman is said to have immediately informed her boyfriend and, shortly after, a confrontation took place involving all parties.

During the altercation, the alleged offenders caused injuries to both her boyfriend and brother.

Afterward, the brothers managed to escape on foot. The Police searched for the alleged offenders immediately following the incident, but unfortunately, they were not successful in apprehending them.

Both victims were then transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre in a private vehicle.

According to reports, the victims were in stable condition, although one of them required further observation and was admitted, while the other was treated and discharged.

Investigations into this incident are currently ongoing.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old woman from Jennings went to the Bolans Police Station and reported that she had been wounded by a man known to her as “Shaquan.”

This incident reportedly occurred around 6 p.m. in Jennings. It is said that the woman had just arrived home when the man confronted her in her yard.

Allegedly, upon seeing her, he approached her and struck her on the left side of her face with a stick.

The Police recovered the alleged weapon used in the commission of the offense.
