Quinn-Williams has made an appeal to all those who are contending for different positions on the Party’s Executive.
Quinn-Williams, the United Progressive Party’s caretaker for St Johns Rural North, recently resigned from the leadership race.
Now the contest is between Jamal Pringle and Richard Lewis
Quinn Williams has requested them to let the democratic process continue without any interference and avoid making any statements or taking actions that could damage the public’s trust in the Party.
“I have confidence that my brothers Jamal and Richard would do everything to make sure the process will be fair. I am sure they won’t do anything that would injure the party in any way,” she said
She also admonished her colleagues to be careful about outside influence at this time
“I have confidence that they will conduct themselves in a manner that will not cause any disunity or fracture the party in any way. I would like to tell them not to allow any pressure them to move in a kind of way…look at the bigger picture that will take the party into victory,” she said
Quinn-Williams has also urged the Convention delegates to wisely choose the candidate who they believe will lead the Party to triumph in the upcoming General Election.
Quinn-Williams remains undaunted and committed to serving her community and country.
She said her decision to withdraw from the leadership contest was due to the fact that she did not receive the full backing of the Rural North branch.
Nevertheless, Quinn-Williams has pledged to continue serving her constituency and country, as she did not enter politics to get rich.
Quinn-Williams’ said her passion for serving the people of Antigua and Barbuda is what prompted her interest in leading the UPP.
She says she is willing to work with whoever wins the leadership race for the betterment of the country, its people, and the party’s supporters.
