Opposition Senator David Massiah has concerns about the Revenue Miscellaneous Provision Bill.
Massiah said in Parliament this morning that there is a need for greater clarity, transparency, and inclusivity in the legislative process.
According to him, the lawmakers should be given a chance to do things right, and the bill needs to be discussed in detail before implementation.
One of the main concerns raised by Senator Massiah was the timing of the bill’s introduction and subsequent discussion.
He pointed out that the bill was introduced just after April Fool’s Day, which raised concerns about the meaningful discussion and amendments that would be required.
Senator Massiah also questioned the rationale behind the proposed amendments.
He asked why the changes were being made and whether there were any concerns regarding how the bill was being managed.
He further emphasized that it was essential to have transparent and inclusive discussions to ensure that legislative changes aligned with the nation’s best interests.
In his remarks, Senator Massiah called for a more detailed and informative approach to the legislative process.
He advocated for open dialogue to address concerns and ensure that legislative changes are made with complete transparency.
