March 20th, Saint John’s Antigua – Sandals, one of the leading resorts in the Caribbean, has recently welcomed two new trainees, Dominic Wilson and Amanda Benjamin, to their team in beautiful Antigua.

Hailing from the islands of Grenada and Jamaica, respectively, Dominic and Amanda have been selected to participate in Sandals’ prestigious Management Trainee Programme. Over the next two months, they will undergo training in the human resource and engineering departments, gaining valuable skills and experience in the hospitality industry.

Both team members are graduates of prominent universities in their respective countries and are eager to put their knowledge into practice in a real-world setting.

They were selected from a pool of highly qualified candidates and are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to join the Sandals team.

During their time in the programme, Dominic and Amanda will be mentored by experienced managers and will have the chance to work on various projects and tasks that will challenge and develop their skills.

They will also have the opportunity to interact with guests and learn about the importance of creating a positive and memorable experience for each and every one of them.

The Management Trainee Programme at Sandals has been running for over 30 years and is highly regarded for its ability to develop young talent and prepare them for successful careers in the hospitality industry.

With a strong emphasis on providing top-notch service and creating unforgettable experiences for guests, Sandals recognizes the importance of investing in the development of young professionals to maintain their high standards.

The programme has also benefited many Antiguans, providing them with valuable training and career opportunities at Sandals. One notable success story is that of Scotty Nelson, who began his journey with Sandals Grande Antigua in 2013.

Through the programme, he received handson training and mentorship from experienced managers, allowing him to develop his skills and climb the career ladder. Today, he heads the housekeeping department as the executive housekeeper.

Another shining example is Keran Campbell who joined Sandals as a boat captain in 2009.

Through the programme, he received specialized training in watersport activities and customer service, allowing him to excel in his role. His enthusiasm and dedication did not go unnoticed, and he was soon promoted to assistant watersports manager.

Today, he is an integral part of the team, helping guests create unforgettable memories through a plethora of watersport inclusions.

Sandals General Manager David Latchimy shared, “as Dominic and Amanda embark on this exciting new chapter in their lives, I urge them to make the most of this experience and to become future leaders in the industry. Sandals Grande Antigua is proud to welcome them to the team and look forward to seeing them thrive and succeed in their roles.”
