Labourites’ Loyalty Betrayed: An Open Letter to Comrade Leader

You can now listen to Antigua News articles!

Dear Comrade Leader,

It is with profound disappointment and a sense of betrayal that we, the steadfast Labourites, pen this open letter to you. For too long, we have endured the constant pandering to turncoats within our party ranks, and it is high time that we address this issue head-on.

The very essence of our party, built on principles of solidarity and unwavering commitment to the working class, is being undermined by your willingness to cater to those who would abandon our cause at the drop of a hat. While we understand the need for unity and coalition-building, it should not come at the expense of our core values and the trust of our loyal supporters.

The recent trend of appeasing turncoats, who jump ship for personal gain or political expediency, sends a clear message that loyalty and dedication to our party count for nothing in your eyes.

Instead of rewarding those who have stood by our side through thick and thin, you choose to elevate opportunists whose allegiance is as fleeting as the morning dew.

Labourites across the nation are questioning their unwavering support for the party, as they witness their sacrifices and tireless efforts being disregarded in favor of those who have proven themselves to be fair-weather friends at best.

Comrade Leader, it is time to reaffirm your commitment to the grassroots members who form the backbone of our movement. It is time to prioritize the concerns and aspirations of long standing Labourites over the whims of turncoats seeking personal gain.

It is time to restore faith in our party’s leadership by staying true to the comradeship that has united us for generations.

We urge you to heed this call for introspection and realignment with the principles that have guided our party since its inception. The future of the Labour movement depends on it, and the loyalty of its members cannot be taken for granted.

Sincerely,

The Labourites

Note: Those who engaged the leadership over Ms Imoff’s appointment never applied for the job and certainly do not have the requisite qualifications.

Incidentally, of the four appointments, three are comrades, and only one was a former UPP member who is now a comrade.

The PM is PM of all citizens and residents.

Antigua is for ALL Antiguns… Why do we continue to tear down each other… Every other nationality makes it in this country except us… Why are we so unkind to each other? Aren’t they Antiguans? We’re you qualified and applied for the job and was over-looked?

There may be a lot of grass roots supporters, but they may not have the requisite qualifications… Come on… It’s time to stop the nonsense, especially if you were not interested until the position was filled with someone who is considered in your opinion to be a defector from another party…

If you are interested, (and I speak braodly)… Educate yourself, if you’re not and apply, but don’t make ruction and can’t do the job…

I stand corrected on anything I may have said incorrectly…

Let’s be kind to one another… The world is already heading to hell in a hand basket…
