The man accused of raping and confining his estranged partner has been detained at His Majesty’s Prison following his initial court appearance at the Magistrate’s Court today.

He is facing charges of Attempted Murder, Rape, and Unlawful Confinement.

According to reports, the man, who is also the father of the victim’s children, forcibly entered her residence several weeks ago, where he proceeded to assault her and restrain her.

After a report was filed with the authorities, the man was apprehended upon his return to the island. Due to the rape allegation, the law prohibits the disclosure of the identities of those involved in the case.
