During a visit to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Center on Sunday, the minister was taken aback when he found out that almost all the beds in the surgical ward were occupied by patients who had sustained injuries in traffic accidents.
He was informed that a young man was currently fighting for his life due to a recent vehicular accident.
In light of this, the Public Safety Minister is urging all drivers to exercise extreme caution when on the roads and to follow the rules regarding road use to help put an end to dangerous reckless driving in the state.
He has also warned that the Traffic Department will be extra vigilant and will not hesitate to prosecute traffic violators.
The minister has issued a stern warning that this sort of recklessness must stop immediately, as it endangers the lives of citizens and visitors alike. It is crucial that everyone follows the rules and regulations to ensure the safety of all on the roads.
