Low Turnout at Beach Protest

Today, the turnout at the Halcyon Beach protest was noticeably low despite a call for citizens to gather and voice their opposition to two concerning issues.

One issue concerns the restriction of private citizens’ access to the beach, while the other pertains to Peter Kelsick.

Although it’s possible that the low turnout was due to many people being at work, it’s still concerning that fewer than expected showed up to stand up for these important causes.

A group of citizens organized a protest against Royalton Chic Hotel following a dispute with a local businessman, Peter Kelsick.

Kelsick claims that the hotel displaced him from the beach bar he had operated for years.

Kelsick and the owners of Halcyon Chic were just concluding a compensation process when Kelsick reportedly switched and demanded more money

Kelsick is taking legal action against the hotel, but the protest organizers have been warned that their actions could negatively affect the construction of the US75M investment.
