Three talented female chefs have emerged as finalists for the Taste of Wadadli Pastry Chef Competition.
After surpassing four other skilled contenders in the preliminary rounds, the final trio includes Tameka Hamilton, Chef de Partie at Blue Waters Resort & Spa; Vivia Ingram, Chef de Partie at Jumby Bay Island; and Britanya McLaren, Pastry Cook at Hermitage Bay.
The showdown will be interesting as these chefs gear up for the grand finale set to unfold at the Antigua & Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute on Saturday, May 11.
Their challenge? To craft a dessert masterpiece where the spotlight ingredient is none other than the versatile sweet potato.
Highlighted in a recent presentation by Cleo Henry, Antigua’s rich sweet potato diversity boasts a staggering forty-two varieties. To elevate their creations, the chefs must select from three meticulously chosen varieties: Beauregard Sweet Potato, Japanese Purple Sweet Potato, and Back-rah Mary Sweet Potato.
With just a week left to fine-tune their culinary marvels, these chefs are poised to dazzle judges and attendees alike with their ingenuity and expertise.
