Antigua and Barbuda’s Legendary Cricketers Tour the United Kingdom

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority is thrilled to have successfully concluded its UK Tour, which presented the rich culture and dynamic spirit of Antigua and Barbuda.

The tour was aimed at highlighting the remarkable year of international cricket being held at Antigua’s famed Sir Vivian Richards Stadium this year.

During the tour, the Be Here campaign was launched, emphasizing the charisma and appeal of Antigua and Barbuda as a must-visit destination for the year of cricket in 2024.

The iconic Knights of Antigua and Barbuda, including Sir Andy Roberts, Sir Vivian Richards, Sir Richie Richardson, and Sir Curtly Ambrose, traveled over 800 miles across England and Scotland over five days in a roadshow that showcased the vibrant culture and sporting history of Antigua and Barbuda.

At each venue, guests were treated to electrifying performances from the band ‘Spirited,’ featuring Sir Richie Richardson and Sir Curtly Ambrose, who set the dance floor alight.

During the tour, the Knights were interviewed by top-tier journalists, including BBC, ITV News, talkSPORT, Sky TV, and The Times, among others, and participated in a total of 14 interviews across four days, creating a national media buzz and news headlines across Britain’s most respected channels.

Cherrie Osborne, the Director of Tourism UK & Europe for the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, expressed immense pride in hosting the ‘Cricket and Culture Roadshow.’

By creatively blending the sporting legacy and cultural richness of Antigua and Barbuda, they distinguished themselves in a crucial market.

Over five action-packed days across England and Scotland, they engaged with destination partners, media, and cricket fans, inspiring travelers to join their unique journey in Antigua and Barbuda, where every moment is unforgettable.

The tour commenced at the world-famous Lords Cricket ground, also known as the “Home of Cricket,” in London, setting the tone for an exceptional journey of discovery and celebration.
