Prime Minister Gaston Browne is closely monitoring the state of readiness for the upcoming Fourth Conference for Small Islands Developing States (SIDS4), which is less than a week away.
During the Browne and Browne show on Saturday, the prime minister mentioned that he had inspected the conference facility late Friday afternoon and was content with the progress made to prepare the venue for the thousands of delegates who will gather in Antigua and Barbuda for this important meeting under the auspices of the United Nations.
“Our preparedness is in good shape. I visited the conference center yesterday (Friday) and I’m happy to report that it meets or even exceeds international standards,” he said
Browne said “it’s a stunning conference facility with all the necessary ICT facilities in place. I believe it can accommodate 1200-1500 seated persons; it’s a beautiful conference facility located near the coastline with all that that has to offer.”
PM Browne observed that the landscaping crews were diligently putting the finishing touches, and the car-park paving was being completed, which he believes will be ready for the start of the conference on Monday.
Regarding the program, the prime minister also expressed his pride in the program that will be presented to the delegations for their approval.
