A family is now facing charges after a viral fight involving a shovel.

The alleged incident occurred on May 2, around 3:30 p.m. at Ball Beef, Liberta, following a heated dispute over a job reference letter.

Jahvin Francis, Algernon Hodge, Everese Benjamin, along with a minor, find themselves confronted with charges stemming from the assault on Raymond Ledeatte.

Furthermore, Francis is accused of inflicting injuries upon his uncle, Ledeatte, employing a shovel, and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Ledeatte, in turn, faces charges for uttering threats and assaulting Everese Benjamin.

According to a police report, Ledeatte arrived at the Liberta Police Station with a bleeding head wound. He reported that his nephew, also a resident of Liberta, had attacked him during an altercation at the nephew’s home.

The dispute reportedly stemmed from a previous disagreement about a job letter that Raymond “Rackaman” Leadette was supposed to write to assist his nephew in obtaining a U.S. visa.

The situation escalated after the nephew expressed his displeasure on Facebook, prompting “Rackaman” to confront him about his behavior.

The confrontation led to a physical altercation involving other family members, during which the nephew allegedly struck his uncle on the head with a shovel.

All of the defendants appeared in court on Friday and were given bail.
