The Foreign Minister of Ghana, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, and the Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, E.P Chet Greene
The Foreign Minister of Ghana, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, and the Foreign Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, E.P Chet Greene, discussed the possibility of establishing an ‘air-bridge’ between the two countries.
She was speaking during a meeting at the Fourth International Conference of Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) at the American University of Antigua.
Minister Greene highlighted the government’s commitment to making the air-bridge a reality, emphasizing the importance of Antigua as a gateway to the Caribbean.
Minister Botchwey expressed frustration with the current travel route between Ghana and Antigua and Barbuda, stating that a direct flight would significantly reduce travel time.
Minister Greene acknowledged the need for more direct air routes between Africa and the Caribbean, as the current routes are not efficiently designed for travel between the two regions.
