The Ministry of Creative Industries is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Official Carnival Calypso Tent at Tent City (Social Security Parking Lot). The tent will run every Friday and Saturday, commencing from Friday, June 7th, until Saturday, July 6th, starting at 8 p.m. nightly. Admission is $20.00.
Calypso lovers and enthusiasts are invited to be a part of this cultural celebration and support our talented Calypsonians. Be among the first to hear the new music for Carnival 2024, and start your personal judging journey now.
In collaboration with Calypsonians, the Ministry of Creative Industries will host a one-song competition. This will offer Calypsonians the platform to showcase their Calypso presentation focusing on this year’s theme of Social Commentary and the Spirit of Carnival. Prepare for an exciting competition filled with surprises and upsets that will make this year’s event dynamic.
Each night, we will pay tribute to the legendary “High Flying King Swallow,” honoring his music and contributions to the Calypso art form and celebrating his legacy.
The Ministry of Creative Industries would like to publicly thank Cavalier Rum, the title sponsor for the Cavalier Rum Calypso Monarch scheduled for August 02 at 8 p.m. at Carnival City. Their generous support has made this event possible, and their commitment to promoting the arts is truly commendable.
